The fresh look and smell of the world after a rainstorm makes it seem like it has been cleaned up just for us. Living creatures of all kinds come right back out to play as soon as the rain stops.
Lately we here in the Land of Ozarkia have been getting a lot of storms, but many of them are just hard rains. Everything is green and growing. When City Boy mowed half the lawn one day and then the other half a day later, the first half was already twice as tall as the newly-mown part.
“Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.” Roger Miller
It’s hard to complain when things are thriving and growing and beautiful from the nourishment of the rain.
May your rainy days end up bringing beautiful things to you!
“Rain is grace; rain is the sky condescending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life.” John Updike

You are most welcome, Joe! I just had to include your post since it had the same name and also featured your beautiful photo! Your thoughts on comparing rainy days with the storms of life is so very insightful. Yes, I sloshed around my house and yard and took the photos not long after a rain shower, lol — I’m starting to get over my aversion to getting wet! Thank you so much for your kind words!

These are all so beautiful, Becky. I was trying to pick a favorite. I can’t. I like them all. 🙂

Thank you so much, Robin! Although I try not to completely imitate someone else’s style, a lot of the photographs I take and processing I do are from ideas and tips I have gotten from you and from looking at your photographs. You do such beautiful work, and I love looking at your blog!

I think we all imitate, Becky. It can’t be helped, and it’s how we learn. Besides, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I’m flattered. Thank you for the lovely compliment. 🙂

Well, thank you, Bob!
Oh, when it comes to the blasted sunflowers, someone else is having the same problem we are in viewing the page, so I am looking for an alternative. My page looks too bare without anything, but I need to find SOMEthing, idk.
Drop shots are my very favorite of macro shots, and it has to rain in order to get them. I’ve tried spraying things with a mister, and it looks good, but doesn’t make those magnificent natural drops that rain does. Glad you like them!
The spider web was difficult for me because I absolutely do not like spiders, lol! But I stumbled onto that web and just HAD to get the shot, so biting the bullet was the only way to do it.
Hope you are getting some R&R now that you’re back from your getaway!

I do like how the spider’s web shows up with the raindrops on it—they give it a special, unique look!

You know, I would have figured a hard rain would have destroyed a spider web, but not this time — those webs are tough for being made of fibers less than the width of a hair! I’m so glad you like it, iarxiv!
