In this big, wide world there is a little slice of heaven in each of our lives — home. It’s that speck on the map that is ours, and there is no other place like it in the world. All of us have been to some pretty great places, and some not-so-great, but isn’t it always wonderful to get back to your little corner of the world?
When I got married it was quite a change–I moved from small-town country life to urban city life in one packing of a moving truck, and started a new life of very mixed ways of doing things. The parts of the country I took there with me are the same ones that are still with me today.
We lived in the city together for 6 years, and then after several years of job-related moves, I never would have guessed we would end up here in Washington, a small River town in Missouri. It’s beautiful and historic — we love it!
It’s still about making our corner of the world a haven for anyone who enters, and making it a wonderful respite for those who live in it. For us, that would be me and my husband, Frank, my City Boy from Dallas, Texas. Together we’re quite the mix between city and country!
Oh, and not to forget Lucy–she’s our miniature schnauzer. She thinks she’s very bright, but then I guess she is!
I am a DIYer, a tightwad, a packrat, and I dabble in photography, but most of all I want to be the perfect hostess to anyone who comes into my home (somehow that never happens but I’m always trying!). Sharing our day-to-day life with wonderful people is what this blog is all about!
Come by our page and visit from time-to-time–you’re always welcome!
