While these hot, steamy Summer days tend to make some folks wilt and wish for winter to come early, I love summer and always have.  People used to tell me they couldn’t understand my reasoning about that, when it was easier if the weather was cold to put more clothes on than it was in Summer when the weather was hot to take clothes off — there’s only so far a person can go with that.  Even so, Summer has always been a time when I felt more alive for some reason.

Lately I’ve been able to post and be on WordPress less and  less, and my email tends to back-up as well — today I looked and had over 1,000 unopened emails, gasp.  So I thought I’d just mention that I plan to get better about that, really I do.

The truth is, I am pretty much in the twilight of my life at this point — the old ticker just ain’t what it used to be.  I’m only 53, but I’ve been told for years that getting real old probably wasn’t in the cards for me, and I’ve already pretty much outlived what was expected.

That said, I figure I need to try and post more and read my emails more.  It’s hard when all I want to do is lay down all the time, but doing that affords me very little experiences to post about, lol!  So, I thought I would just fess up that I just wasn’t doing that well at the moment.  I have a myriad of health issues, but who wants to hear about that?  I bore even myself when I talk about them.  Besides, I have a lot of life left in me and don’t plan to spend it being a couch potato.

Although Summertime is hot and humid in a lot of places, it is also a fun time to be out and about doing lots of activities outdoors, something much more difficult to do in the cold of Winter.  So City Boy and I have been trying to get out a little each day.  We’ve gone to a couple of parks, and been to a few activities, and had quite a little bit of company, which you know I love!

I encourage each of you to grab the Gatorade and a wet rag to carry with you and get out and about for a little bit each day.  You might get hot, but it may make you feel a little more alive and energetic to be in the wide-open world.  Of course, don’t overdo the heat, but God gave us all some sense so we can enjoy His world without killing ourselves.  It’s a wonderful world — try not to miss any of it!

Blessings to each and every one of you!!
