This picture of my oldest daughter was taken around 1986 or 1987.  It is my all-time favorite picture of her.  It was a clear picture back in the day — now it looks like everything in the picture has a coating of grime, but there wasn’t any at the time this picture was taken.  Down by her feet is a toy, The Little Professor — a math learning game shaped like an owl.  Remember those?

Time passes quickly and Megan is all grown up with children of her own.  She had a recent conversation with her oldest son, part of which went like this:

Mom:  “You are so cute I could just eat you up!”
Son: “Mom, eating people is against the Ten Commandments!”
Mom: “How’s that?” (Trying very hard not to laugh)
Son: “Because before you eat a person you have to kill them and that is against the Ten Commandments!”

Megan posted the above conversation on Facebook and added, “Never a dull moment in my house; however, I am overjoyed that my son is beginning to understand the Ten Commandments.”

Meanwhile, my daughter Emily was taking her children to the lake for a nice, refreshing time away from the hubbub.

Now, kids, we're going to have fun today, right?

They seemed to have a blast!

Recently Becca and Steven took Precious Baby out to a field of sunflowers and had some fun!

Precious Baby decided to just hang out.

A day in the life of our children and grandchildren is something we always enjoy hearing stories about and getting pictures of — keep them coming, kids!

“While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.”
