Yesterday evening, while the sun was still up, the yard was once again alive with critters and flowers, so I grabbed several pictures through the window just for fun (stay with me, they get better). These next three were the only pictures I took from inside the house, and I try not to post them when I do take them through the window, but I wanted to give you an idea how lovely Spring in our little Ozarks town is!
There were two of these kind of birds foraging around in the yard seeing what they could find, so I’m guessing they are a “couple.”
This shot even had to be taken standing a ways back so as not to spook a rabbit that was right close to the window as it was getting dark.
Then last night, as the sun was sinking behind the trees, it looked like a big orange ball. Nice sunsets are so peaceful! Who could resist stepping outside to enjoy it (and take pictures of it)?
Bright and (halfway) early this morning, the tree that had been only budding out yesterday was covered with blooms! It is so beautiful!
Tonight’s evening sky was fairly low-key because of the clouds (compared to our orange ball sun from last night), but peaceful and pleasant just the same.
It’s been a great week, with some storms and some sun, some warm and some cold, some turmoil and some peace — things are not always sunny, warm and peaceful, but that doesn’t make it a washout. Long as we remember there is no storm that somebody can’t help us through, because it rains on everybody at one time or another — we’re all in this together.
Have a delightful weekend full of peace and blessings!

Thank you so much, Jerry! I’m not as practiced as you are at the macro photography, but I’m slowly starting to get the hang of it — love your macro photography!

I haven’t had time to take a look at your macros yet but will be soon. I do thank you for the compliment Becky. It is something I work very hard at because macro is my favorite of all. It enables me to bring a small and wee world to the awareness of others that would normally go unnoticed. I hope to improve by a large margin as I will have a new camera. The one I’m using has a focusing issue and a fixed lens.

A few of the flower pictures above were done in macro or super, but I tend to use spot focus a lot, which presents its own set of problems — guess I need more practice, lol! I don’t blame you for liking macro, Jerry — it is fun and challenging at the same time.

I use the super macro mode marked on my camera to but I don’t think it is true macro after researching the term Super Macro but that will soon change. To me, in what I shoot, with everything so close to the lens and in some cases, almost touching, there so many differing distances between the subject and the lens. Then depending on the DOF I want, I have to focus on the part that’s not too close or too far away to get what I want to be sharp and clear. Then the biggest hurdle for me here is the wind. I try to take all my flower shots as early as I can after sunrise for the effects of dew and less light or in the darker hour before sunset. That way the definitions of the objects stand out more because of a darker background. Most especially light colored flowers, bugs and plants. Yes, it is a challenge. I’ve thrown away more shots than I have kept. However, as you said, we love it. 🙂

Thank you! I try to capture as much of the beauty as possible, but alas, pictures just cannot do it full justice! Isn’t Spring just wonderful?

Wow, you got some great photos! Looks like spring has definitely sprung over there! What beautiful little blossoms on that tree! And I love the shot of the moon behind the branches – the branches make such a lovely pattern on it! Thank you for sharing your lovely pictures! 🙂

Thank YOU for such kind words, Katy! Yes, Spring certainly is in full swing here! Glad you like the sunset pictures — Frank thought it looked neat that the sun looked like a big orange ball in the sky, lol! Do you have Spring the same time of year as we do here?

Nature is such an amazing thing, hey? 🙂
No, we’re currently in autumn over here, heading into winter, although the weather has still been around 30-35 oC for the last week or so. The nights have been lovely and cool though, so fingers crossed the days will start cooling down soon, too!

That IS very warm for Autumn — we’re usually having those temperatures in the middle of summer! Sounds like you have some lovely nights to enjoy before the weather gets too cold — I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you over there as well!
